D-dimer – Understanding the concept and value
June 30, 2020
Webinar presented by Guillaume Galpy.
About this webinar
Learn more and get answers to your questions on D-dimer - How important is D-dimer in the management of patients with Venous Thromboembolism? What an elevated D-dimer in a COVID-19 patient would mean?
Several research work and publications lately have highlighted the potential prognostic value of numerous biomarkers in COVID-19 patients leading to revised guidelines and recommendations. One such biomarker of high importance is D-dimer. Older age, elevated d-dimer levels (greater than 1 µg/L), and clinical probability assessment, on admission, have been included as risk factors for COVID-19 related mortality1.
