The PLUS version of ABL800 FLEX – video transcript

Anna-Karin Stahlberg, Biomedical Analyst, Halland’s Hospital, Sweden

My name is Anna-Karin Stahlberg. I work as a biomedical analyst at the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory at Halland's Hospital, Halmstad.

I have worked here for ten years. Halland's Hospital has approximately 400 beds.

In a life-threatening situation, it is important that the patient immediately receives the necessary care.

A blood gas sample must be measured at once in order to adjust the treatment.

I chose my profession because I'm passionate about technology and how it can be used to help people.

In my work, I perform blood gas analyses and also a lot of ionized calcium tests and pH in pleura analyses.

As biomedical analysts, we often form the invisible link between the patients and the caregivers.

The equipment I use in my work must be trustworthy, user-friendly, and reliable to ensure the best quality in every result we provide.

Our fast results enable rapid adjustment of the patient's treatment. The user-friendliness means a lot to us.

For more than ten years, we've been using the ABL800 series from Radiometer. It works very well for us. The PLUS version of the ABL800 FLEX has a notably improved touchscreen and a faster processor.

It's much easier to operate. The inlet handle and the other touchpoints are easily recognizable by the blue color.

Our test results are used for immediate adjustment of vital clinical treatment so I need to feel 100 percent certain about everything I provide. Without that safe feeling, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
