Changes in oxygen uptake, transport or release are reflected by the tcpO2 value, helping to detect circulatory problems before any organs are affected.

Non-invasive transcutaneous monitoring of the oxygen supply to tissue (oxygenation/microcirculation and perfusion of the skin) is a valuable and proven diagnostic tool for critical limb ischemia detection, wound care treatment optimization and optimal amputation level determination.

In addition, transcutaneous monitoring of the oxygen supply to the tissue is useful in post-surgery wound healing evaluation, hyperbaric oxygen treatment monitoring and free flap survival optimization.
