The diagnosis and treatment of critically ill patients often depend on the results of the blood samples.

Test results must reflect the current status of the patient and not be related to analyzer variability or bias. Therefore, all clinical analyzers should regularly measure on QC materials with predefined values to evaluate and document the performance of the analyzer.
