Radiometer’s next-generation blood gas analyzer received the 2010 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA)in recognition of a design that innovates the face of healthcare as we know it today

Radiometer’s next-generation blood gas analyzer has been awarded the 2010 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) in recognition of a design that innovates the face of healthcare as we know it today.

Each year companies involved in design, engineering, manufacturing and distribution of medical devices/packaging compete in this worldwide quest to gain recognition for medical excellence in design and functionality. It’s the first time that Radiometer receives the prestigious award.

“We’re absolutely thrilled,” says Radiometer President, Peter Kürstein. “The goal with the ABL90 FLEX analyzer has always been to create a product that would enable caregivers to spend less time on testing and more on patient care. Design and functionality have played a pivotal role in making that a reality for our users, and we are truly happy to have these efforts recognized.”

About the ABL90 FLEX analyzer
The ABL90 FLEX analyzer is Radiometer’s latest blood gas analyzer. Designed specifically for point-of-care testing, the analyzer measures 17 parameters, including blood gas, electrolytes, metabolites and CO-oximetry from just 65μL of whole blood.

Results are available in only 35 seconds. The unmatched short time to results and ease of use enables caregivers to spend less time on testing and more on patient care.
