LAURA FRISENFELDT JAKOBSEN
Quality Engineer
RA (Regulatory Affairs) / QA (Quality Affairs)
Radiometer is always interested in attracting people who want to write their dissertation or PhD while working with us. Laura Frisenfeldt Jakobsen is an Engineering student who chose to take this opportunity in 2008. She has now finished her dissertation and is employed in the Quality department, where she registers customer reports on different products and then contacts the relevant departments to collaborate with them in finding solutions.
- It’s not like, say, working at a telephone company and receiving customer complaints. Here we are dealing with very important feedback from hospitals, who depend on being able to use the analyzers as efficiently as possible.
On the job training
- I was made to feel very welcome. There’s a fixed introductory program for all new employees, where we also take a course to learn about our own products. I think this is very rewarding and important, but my department should also take much of the credit for helping me settle in so quickly at the company.
Large company – lots of expertise to learn from
- Radiometer is a perfect size for me. There’s always someone who has expert knowledge within just about every area. But at the same time the company isn’t so big that you don’t know one another. I‘ve really had the feeling that you don’t need to know everything yourself. I’ve been able to draw on a whole range of people who have been more than willing to share their knowledge.
Meaningful job
- I can certainly feel that Radiometer is a part of Danaher, as it is a company that wants to progress. People are dedicated to a common cause here. A number of my colleagues have themselves had family members who have undergone long periods of illness. It means something to the employees that we are working with medical equipment. Here it’s about saving lives.
